Tax Intern
Henjes, Connor and Williams PC
North Sioux, SD
My first internship was at Henjes, Connor, and Williams PC. Here I learn many technical skills, like using software such as CCH Axcess. During tax season, I made a goal at the beginning to complete 100 tax returns. I completed 103 returns. My work ethic and technical skills help achieve this goal by preparing not only individual returns but also business returns. A reflection of my work ethic and technical skills is that Henjes, Connor, and William extended my internship throughout the summer and fall, which led to a return offer for the next tax season and a full-time offer for January 2027, which I respectfully declined. While I appreciated the opportunity they gave me, I made this decision because I am committed to pursuing a role at a larger firm like Deloitte. Where I can expand my professional skills, take on more complex challenges, and also be part of an impressive, dynamic, global team

Inventory/Shipping
Sioux City Tarp
Sioux City, IA
Sioux City Tarp was my first-ever job. Here is where I learned most, if not all, of my soft skills and where my work ethic first started. I started working here at 12 years old under my dad's supervision, helping him on the weekends with little things like counting screws and similar tasks. My dad's boss, Bill Bremer, liked my work ethic and what I brought to the company. He let me come into work whenever I had time. Throughout the years working their my responabilites grew much greater then just counting screws. I started managing inventory and deciding which order we should ship first. At the age of 14 to 18, I started working full-time every summer and part-time during the school year. I work around 55 hours weekly during the summer. Soft skills I learned throughout the years here were interacting with clients on a daily bases and also communcations skills. I appreciated this job so much; it helped me realize at a young age to read the room and when to talk and when not to. I worked with people from ages 22 to 89; this job was truly a blessing. I gain respect from my co-workers through my work ethic and the value I bring to the company.
